Homesearch bidding scheme

I am writing to confirm the relaunch of Southwark’s Homesearch bidding scheme.

This will now be reactivated on the 10 September 2020.

We understand many residents have been eager to see the recommencement of the scheme. It was however necessary to put a number of measures in place to ensure we are able to operate the scheme safely for both residents and Southwark staff.

Therefore you can now expect the following:

• Initial viewings should be done virtually wherever this is possible.
• All physical viewings limited to members of the same household and open house viewings will not take place. This will mean only one applicant can view the property at a time and the next viewing will take place a minimum of 72 hours after the first viewing if the first applicant refuses the property.
• Minimised number of residents at viewings.
• Enhanced cleaning process in between each viewing.
• Anyone involved in any aspect of the home moving process should practice social distancing in line with public health advice.
• Detailed guidance for will be provided to households to ensure moves are conducted safely.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) made available to council staff and residents attending a viewing.
