Phone Scam Warning

We have received a warning which we have been asked to pass onto you regarding a new phone scam which has recently started.

Our colleague received a call from a ‘representative’ of BT, informing them that they were disconnecting their phone because of an unpaid bill. The caller demanded payment immediately of £31.00 or warned it would cost £118.00 to re-connect at a later date.

NHS: Elderly care dossier

A dossier containing “shameful” stories about the care elderly patients receive in NHS hospitals in England has been published by campaigners.

The Patients Association said the 16 cases include people being denied pain relief, left to sit in their own faeces and going without food and drink.

Spotting the signs of dementia

A new campaign to raise awareness of the early signs and symptoms of dementia has being launched. Aimed at encouraging more people to seek an early diagnosis of dementia, the campaign targets the family and friends of people at risk of dementia who are likely to be the first to see the signs and can encourage their loved one to see their GP.
