The hardest hit – defending disabled people’s futures

A number of organisations supporting “The Hardest Hit” campaign, which is organising a march, lobby and rally of Parliament to take place on 11 May 2011.

Over 40 organisations and groups of disabled people are working together led by the Disability Benefits Consortium (DBC), the UK Disabled People’s Council (UKDPC) and Disability Charities Consortium (DCC).

The day will be an opportunity for people to come together to voice their concern about the impact of Government cuts on disabled people, which are threatening benefits and services for disabled people.

Many of you will have attended one of the Big Cuts road shows which MenCap have been running across the country to talk to people about fighting cuts both at a local and national level. As the road shows come to an end, “The Hardest Hit” campaign will enable people from different local areas to come together and voice their concern.

More information is available at www.hardesthit.org.uk. You will need to make sure you register and let the campaign organisers know that you are coming and any access needs.
