CTA – Call out for Southwark based writers/ performers

CoolTan Arts believes mental well-being is enhanced by the power of creativity.

They are looking for Southwark Based writers and performers to help with one of their projects:

  • Spoken Word, Poetry, Rap, Short Stories.
  • Writers who have work about Southwark/set in Southwark.
  • Writers exploring mental health issues.

Wanted to contribute material to, come along and / or read at the Largactyl Shuffle – a guided cultural walk around Southwark for mental and physical wellbeing, taking place this month on the 16 July 2011 12noon from Maudsley Hospital to Tate Modern.

Each month the walk has a different theme – and for July the theme is Literature. We will give talks along the route exploring the big literary figures in Southwark – Shakespeare, Chaucer, Dickens etc. We also would love outside contributions from present day writers.

There is also the possibility that audio from the walk will be recorded for a sound art project with South London Art Gallery.
