In preparation for A Level results, our whole family support service took a group of young carers and their families for a sunshine break to the seaside at Brighton. The group were lucky to get such great weather and everyone had a great time.
From orchestral and chamber music at the multi-storey car park in Peckham, choral music at Southwark Cathedral, and experimental music at the Tate Modern.
To mark the start of the Summer holidays, the whole family support service took advantage of a break in the clouds to visit Dulwich Park to try out some of the specialist recumbent cycles. Â The group also enjoyed a meal out together at Pizza Express.

Young Vic Taking Part is creating a community show in response to Wings, and we are holding auditions on Saturday 29 July for people interested in taking part. The show has been created through a series of workshops with people who experience different neurological conditions, and director Thomas Martin, composer Joseph Atkins and writer Deanna Rodger are creating a musical inspired by the people they’ve met.
A change is being proposed to the way people with disabilities access support in Southwark. This will see the development of an accessible Hub, to provide information, advice and care and support to individuals whose lives are affected by disability and a change to day centre services in Southwark.
The NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre is looking for carers of people with a mental health condition to join their Service User Advisory Group (SUAG). The SUAG is a regular meeting of people with an interest in mental health research and experience of mental illness, whether through personal experience, or as carers of somebody with a mental illness.
The Health Innovation Network is running a series of events and promotional activities for Catheter Care Awareness Week, from 19-23 June 2017, as part of our work to reduce catheter-associated urinary-tract infections in South London and beyond. This also coincides with World Continence Week.
