Scientists from two universities, in a study of over half a million people, have discovered no health benefits from taking vitamin tablets. The study even suggests they may cause harm in some cases.
One in three Britons take these supplements but the study suggests that an average Western diet is enough to provide the benefits people seek in these supplements.
The study has strong implications and its direct wording -Â “These vitamins should not be used for chronic disease prevention. Enough is enough” – is indication of the strength of the findings.
