Please come to a Parliamentary debate on accessible transport on October 12th, 2.30 – 4pm.
MP Lisa Nandy has tabled the debate to open up a debate about transport access. Transport for All will be attending, and would like as many disabled and older people as possible as well to be there to show support for improving transport access.
If you would like to attend with other Transport for All members, we will be meeting outside the front of Westminsterstation at 1.30 – please get in touch if you’d like to join us. The debate is open to all members of the public.
Transport for All would like the Government to:
Reject proposals in the McNulty Review to cut staff at train stations, who provide essential assistance to disabled and older passengers
Transport for All is encouraging disabled and older people to write to their MP and ask if they will be attending the debate. You might like to let them know of any problems you have with inaccessible transport, and ask them to raise this with the Secretary of State for Transport. If you are attending the debate on 12th October, you could ask to meet your MP afterwards to tell them how inaccessible transport affects you and what needs to be done.
