Walk with CoolTan Arts for World Mental Health Day

Local Walworth arts charity CoolTan Arts are organising one of their most legendary walks to date on Saturday 13th October.

Join CoolTan Arts’ sponsored walk, celebrate World Mental Health Day and help raise money to keep CoolTan Arts open and helping people with mental distress.

 Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AZ (outside the main entrance)
Finish:
 Tate Modern, Bankside, SE1 9TG

Our What’s in a Name? – BRANDED walk will be a fun interactive event, including talks, discussion and performance exploring how labels and branding can create stigma against those with mental distress.

To register, call us on 020 7701 2696 or download a Registration Formand return to ed@cooltanarts.org.uk along with a fee of £5 unwaged or £10 waged. Please note this fee is non-refundable. Registration fees can also be paid online by making a donation on CoolTan’s JustGiving page – Please include ‘Registration Fee’ and your name on the donation.Once registered, you can choose to be sponsored by friends and family. CoolTan Arts can provide you with a Sponsorship Form or you can set up a page on JustGiving. Please pay your registration fee before starting to get sponsored. 

All the money you raise by sponsorship enables CoolTan Arts to continue to supporting people though creative arts workshops, walks and self-advocacy training.

CoolTan Arts staff, volunteers, participants and supporters are also fundraising on this walk. All contributions however small will be much appreciated.

You can sponsor our walkers on JustGiving or support CoolTan Arts Sponsored Walk by texting a donation. Simply send ARTS99 £3 to 70070 to make a £3 donation, or any other £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10. It’s quick and simple.

The whole walk is 4.8 miles long and is suitable for people with a disability and wheelchair users – do as much as you can. Our friendly CoolTan guides will be there to help you. There will be breaks, poetry readings and other surprises along the route. The walk finishes with a reception and refreshments at Tate Modern, with an opportunity to relax and get to know each other.

Please bring a packed lunch and drinks, wear suitable clothes and sensible footwear.
