A Macmillan Cancer Research report on carers for those with cancer has suggested that they are doing vital healthcare tasks without adequate training, and that more training should be provided.
A survey of 2000 carers suggested they were doing complex and challenging works for the people they care for without having the requisite medical expertise. The findings of the research has caused Macmillan to call for the NHS to help more with carers and cancer sufferers.
Do their findings correspond to your own experience of caring? The full report, including a video of a carer in this situation, is on the BBC website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-24489685
