New TfL Consultation

Transport for London is currently running some consultations on changes which could be important for cyclists, bus passengers and pedestrians, particularly in some parts of London:

The Cycle Superhighway consultations each have detailed proposals for local areas on the route. I would really recommend looking at them and responding  if you are interested in accessible transport, walking and street design in your area.

Age UK London would like to respond but there is no substitute for local knowledge so please get in touch with me if you have views on any of these proposals!

One common feature is the inclusion of “bus stop bypasses” for cyclists, leaving the bus stop on an island with cyclists passing behind it and a designated crossing place for pedestrians from the pavement to the bus stop. Here is a video of how it is supposed to work: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEoer6Erh1o and I’d be particularly interested in views on this!
