Carers UK has been nominated as one of six charities chosen to feature in the Text Santa Christmas Appeal.

The campaign will help raise awareness of carers and the challenges they face. The money raised will allow Carers UK to provide better services and support to carers and their families in the UK.

There will be 2 exciting shows on ITV1 as part of the Text Santa appeal; the first on the 11th of December hosted by Christine Bleakley and Philip Schofield and the second, Christmas Eve will be hosted by Ant and Dec. Both shows will comprise of amazing entertainment that will be uplifiting and celebrate the spirit of goodwill and good fortune at Christmas.

Companies such as Heart FM radio and ASDA will also be involved in the appeal to help raise money for charities involved. Donations can be made via text, phone and in person in Santander branches; the total amount raised will be split equally between the 6 charities chosen for the appeal.

The other charities chosen to be part of the Text Santa appeal are WRVS, Samaritans, Crisis, Help the Hospices and Children’s Hospital Consortium made up of Great Ormond Street Hospital (England), Helping Hand (Belfast), Noah’s Ark Appeal (Wales) Yorkhill Children’s Foundation (Glasgow and Clyde).
