Simon’s talk will describe the changes to the distribution and abundance of butterflies and moths in Britain, and link this to the warming of the climate. Some species are responding positively, while others are struggling. We are likely to see new species arriving from the continent, while others go extinct.
Simon will also be reflecting on the impacts and limitations of the COP26 policies on butterfly and moth conservation

Simon is a lifelong butterfly enthusiast, and more recently climate activist. He is Chair of the SW London volunteer branch of Butterfly Conservation, while at the same time being a Ranger for London National Park City. He is passionate about London’s green spaces and encourages people to explore the parks and gardens near where they live or work.
