Empowering

Southwark Pensioner Forums

In response to requests, we are restarting our programme of Southwark Pensioner Forums.

They are an opportunity for senior decision makers, policy makers and researchers to consult older people on key policies, service developments or research that may affect them or their community.

The first one is on the private rented sector where more and more older people rent homes. Conditions and rights are very different to those in social
housing.

Citizens Advice Southwark and Southwark Law Centre will discuss the issues affecting private renters and will seek the views of older people on creating a private renters union in Southwark

All forums take place at SPC in the main room or online using zoom software at 10.15am for 10.30pm.

Each session will include a presentation by the speaker(s) of about 20 minutes, followed by consultation and discussion.

The first part of the meeting will finish by 12 noon followed by a light lunch.

Please do promote to your networks and if you or they would like to attend, please let us know for catering purposes.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Denzil or Cathy on 020 7708 4556 or info@southwarkpensioners.org.uk.
