We are recruiting for workshops for the project.
We’ll be discussing how we can ensure that Advance Choice Documents (also known as advance directives or advance statements) work well for Black service users, carers/supporters and staff, in order to:
We really want to hear from everyone in order to ensure the above, and to then co-produce a resource to actively implement and use the advance choice document resource into the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust systems ahead of the new Mental Health Act legislation.
We’d really value hearing from Black service users and their carers/supporters to co-produce the resource and know their thoughts and advice around completing, accessing, training staff, and using advance choice documents in the current Phase 1: Workshops. The resource created in the end will be used in SLaM ahead of the new MHA legislation, hence why we want to co-produce this work with Black people, for Black people.
If you’d like me to talk and/or present to your group/team(s) about the study, so they can decide whether they’d like to participate in the workshops or know anyone who would , please do let me know.
