Designing the dementia journey

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust has successfully secured funding from the Department of Health funding for a pilot project ‘designing the dementia journey – a holistic approach to the environment for people with dementia’.

Following on from feedback from staff, patients, relatives, carers and community representatives they have now developed their proposed designs to refurbish several elderly wards, dayrooms and waiting areas to create calm, recognisable spaces.

They will be showing these designs in a public exhibition at St Thomas’ Hospital:

Date:               Monday 4th – Thursday 7th November 2013

Location:        Bird Song Corridor, St Thomas’ Hospital

A member from the project team will be available from 12 noon to 2pm for each of these days and they will be more than happy to talk through the designs and hear your thoughts about them.
