Creation Trust has recently secured one years funding to deliver interventions, support and respite for up to fifteen young carers aged 10-16 who live on and around the Aylesbury and Rockingham estates in Southwark. The project will provide three hours of activities over forty-eight weeks.
The group will engage young carers in a programme of activities and events covering topics such as sexual health, healthy eating, managing a budget and first aid. As well as an educational element, the programme will importantly allow young carers respite and an opportunity to take part in a varied programme of play and activities. One to one support (if appropriate) will also be offered, relating to the young person’s individual caring responsibilities.
