Carers Counselling Service

Carers Counselling Service

THE COUNSELLING SERVICE IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Being a Carer can be a challenging role. At times it can evoke distress, frustration and anger. We all live through difficult and distressing events or experience painful feelings.

While caring for a loved one these problems together with stress, illness or bereavement or on their own can damage our relationships and make it difficult to cope.

A counsellor’s role is to help you gain a greater understanding and awareness of yourself and the problems you have to face. A counsellor will not tell you what to do, but will encourage you to develop confidence in your own ability to help yourself.

Southwark Carers Counselling Service works with adults who have common psychological problems including depression, stress, anxiety and phobias.

You would have sessions with clinical staff with specialist training and experience. We offer a range of psychological help and support, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy).
