Arts 4 Dementia is delighted to let you know that we have been offered a wonderful opportunity from Rambert Dance to take part in a series of four fortnightly dance sessions – the first in a year-long programme for people with early-stage dementia and their families and/or carers.
Participants will experience a sense of wellbeing, by joining a class to express themselves through creative movement to music, by Britain’s national contemporary dance company.
Each workshop comprises warm-ups, partner and group exercises, free dance and a chance to explore a sequence from the company repertoire to stimulate movement memory. There will be chances to interact with other participants, as well as opportunities to observe the company dancers in open rehearsals and delve into the history of the company through Rambert’s large archive.
The sessions will be led by professional dance animateur, Laura Harvey, whom recently ran an extremely successful series of workshops at the English National Ballet, which enormously benefited our participants.
Dates: Mondays 26 January, 9 February, 23 February and 9 March
Times: 10am – 12pm
Venue: Rambert, 99 Upper Ground, London SE1 9PP
