Safeguarding is the action that is taken to promote the welfare of children or vulnerable adults and protect them from harm.
The commonly recognised forms of abuse are Physical, Sexual, Financial, Psychological, Discriminatory, Neglect or acts of omission, Organisational, Self Neglect, Domestic Abuse and Modern Slavery.
The local authority and partners have been working together to establish a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Southwark.
