Southwark Arts Forum helps artists, arts organisations and creative industries in Southwark to excel, and to have a greater impact on their local community. SAF has over 3500 members. It was set up by local artists in Southwark in 1987. We are a rich creative network widely known in Southwark and beyond.

Free DJ Taster Course – 4 weeks

Dates: 4 week course (Once a week)

First session: Tuesday 12th June followed by 19th, 26th of June and 3rd of July 2012

Times: Tuesdays 14.00 – 17.00

Cost: Free to Southwark Residents, limited spaces for non-Southwark residents

Free Advanced Skills Media Course in conjunction with Reprezent 107.3FM (Evening Course) – 4 weeks

Reprezent Radio Station 107.3FM is looking for new and upcoming talent to showcase ground breaking news, interviews and vox pops on their upcoming shows. We are offering a four week course to develop your media skills resulting in a feature to be played on air.

Course Outline:

  • Pre-production planning
  • Advanced editing skills
  • Interview techniques
  • Microphone presentation
  • Vox pops
  • Show production

First session: Thursday 7th June followed by the 14th, 21st of June and the 28th June

Times: Thursdays 18.00 – 21.00

Requirements: You must have basic editing skills and be computer literate

A short course introducing students to concepts and practice of audio editing using Adobe Audition.

An outline of the audio editing course is:

  • Wave editing
  • Multi track editing
  • Working with effects
  • Final mixdown, burn to CD or create podcast

Please note: students must be computer literate.
