Each application will be considered on an individual basis. Southwark Carers Counselling Service reserves the right to decline any application. All volunteers who work in Southwark Carers Counselling Service are CRB checked.

Please note that there is a big demand for placements at Southwark Carers. If you do not hear from us you have not been selected for interview.

GENERAL VOLUNTEERS

Could you spare a few hours to support carers?

We are looking for volunteers who could help run a support group in their local GP surgery, or do some basic admin work in our busy office.

Some of the rewards of volunteering include:

  • Making a positive impact on other carers’ lives - your time and skills are a great help to others in difficult situations.
  • A chance to use and develop your skills - particularly useful if you have been out of the workplace due to caring or are retired.
  • Make new friends - a warm and friendly welcome awaits you from everyone at Southwark Carers.

Professional work experience is not necessary, and we can offer you training, support and expenses. Regular days and hours are negotiable. Volunteering will take place either at Cambridge House or in your local GP surgery. Please us on 0207 708 4497 for an informal chat.

VOLUNTEER TRUSTEES

Southwark Carers is also looking for carers or former carers who are interested in joining our management board and contributing to the overall direction of the organisation. This is a great opportunity to use and develop professional skills to help shape the future of Southwark Carers. The board meets for 2 hours every month.

If you are interested in finding out more about joining the management board of Southwark Carers please call David on 020 7708 4912.
